Vinyl fabric is frequently used as an alternative to leather when it comes to commercial and residential furnishing, the reason? Vinyl is extremely easy and clean, maintain and not to mention it’s very cost-effective.
Available in many different textures and colours that will fit both classic and contemporary furniture styles.
Prevention/Protection
Placing vinyl furniture in direct light or heat can cause fading, discolouration and drying, leading to hardening of PVC, leatherette and woven plastic upholstery fabric. We recommend trying to avoid placing furniture where it can be damaged.
Cleaning
- For spills, grab a soft, clean cloth or paper towel and use this to absorb any excess liquid.
- To clean off any residue liquid dampen a soft, clean cloth with solution of warm pure soap/water or a chemically neutral cleaner and wipe away.
- Once clean use a clean dry cloth to dry the surface.
For treating specific stains, wipe quickly from outside in. Always remember that prompt attention yields more complete removal.
Stubborn grime may require gentle scrubbing with soft bristle brush.
WARNING
- Do not dry clean, use steel wool or heat extraction machine on upholstery fabric. Do not use furniture polish, abrasive or paste cleaners.
- Regular use of cleaners containing hydrocarbons or similar additives may cause damage to the fabric and harden surface. Strong solvents such as acetone are detrimental to the fabric surface.
- Avoid sharp objects.
- Non-colourfast dyestuffs found in some articles of clothing may transfer dye to fabric surface, this is not recognised as a manufacturing fault.
