Client is Good Local
When Good Local first opened its doors in 2017, it quickly became a beloved neighbourhood gastro pub in Pyes Pa. Family-owned and community-focused, it built its reputation on great food, warm hospitality, and a space that welcomed everyone—from after-work catch-ups to weekend family gatherings.
In 2024, an unexpected electrical fire forced the venue to close for eight months—leaving a gap in the community and a big rebuild ahead.
Having worked with owner Mark and his team since day one, we were proud to be part of Good Local’s return—helping to breathe new life into the space while retaining the character locals had come to love.
Practical design for a familiar layout.
Good Local has always featured two distinct zones: a comfortable dining room and a more casual bar area—each with its own atmosphere but designed to flow naturally together.
While the original outdoor furniture from 2017 remained untouched by the fire, much of the indoor timber furniture was affected by smoke damage and needed replacing.
The dining room: Configurable seating, classic warmth.
To maintain the welcoming feel of the dining space, we supplied Lillian chairs in walnut, paired with dark oak table tops and Konus table bases. This setup gives the team flexibility to rearrange tables for group bookings or smaller gatherings—without compromising style or layout.
A green upholstered booth runs centrally through the space, acting as a soft room divider and preserving the structure of the original fit-out. Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass, the room is light-filled and inviting—a perfect balance of form and function.

The bar area: Relaxed vibe with visual continuity.
The bar area retained its identity with the use of high bar leaners and our Dave bar stools, upholstered in green to echo the booth seating in the dining room. This thoughtful use of colour pulls the two zones together visually while preserving their unique functions. The light natural oak tabletops bring contrast and freshness to the bar’s more casual feel.

Furniture that works as hard as you do.
Good Local’s fit-out is a great example of how well-chosen furniture can enhance functionality, support a familiar layout, and refresh a space without starting from scratch. Every piece—whether for flexible seating, visual continuity, or long-lasting comfort—was selected to handle the demands of a high-traffic venue while still looking great.
