Client is Star Group
When Goode Brothers opened its doors in the bustling Bethlehem suburb of Tauranga, it wasn’t just another venue launch—it was a bold invitation to the community to gather, eat, and stay a while. The latest venture from the experienced Star Group hospitality team, Goode Brothers represents a fresh chapter for the group with a unique new concept: Kiwitalian. Think Italian culinary flair served with a healthy helping of Kiwi warmth—laid-back, generous, and unmistakably welcoming.
As part of a large-scale renovation, the team transformed two adjoining interior tenancies and an underutilised outdoor space into a bright, cohesive, and lively destination. It was a bold design challenge, but one made easier by thoughtful planning and carefully selected restaurant furniture—including café chairs and tables from our Cintesi collection that effortlessly delivered both style and functionality.

Kiwitalian vibes meet industrial warmth.
Step inside Goode Brothers, and you’re immediately greeted by the comforting scent of fresh basil—a fitting introduction to the space’s Italian soul. But it’s the vibrant, layered interior that truly sets the tone.
The design plays with contrast and cohesion in all the right ways. Red accents are used liberally throughout the space—from the upholstery on café chairs to table top accessories and railings—creating a high-energy, unmistakably Italian atmosphere. This is beautifully grounded by neutral tones like light oak tables, tan upholstered booth seating, and clean white walls.
The flooring is a polished concrete, offering a subtle industrial edge while reflecting the abundance of natural light that floods through the large floor-to-ceiling windows. Above, exposed steel beams and ducting offer an industrial feel, while soft textures and organic materials balance out the aesthetic, creating a space that feels both dynamic and comfortable.
It’s this mix of modern industrial design with retro Italian café charm that makes Goode Brother’s interior not only eye-catching, but also adaptable and welcoming to a wide range of customers—from solo coffee drinkers to big family celebrations.

Furniture that does more than fill a room.
Our role in bringing Goode Brothers to life was to supply restaurant furniture that complemented the interior design while meeting the functional demands of a high-traffic hospitality venue. And, of course, it had to look great too.
In the indoor dining area, we supplied solid oak café table tops paired with white Hydra bases, creating a light, uncluttered foundation perfect for casual dining. These café tables are both durable and elegant—ideal for a fast-paced environment that values aesthetics as much as practicality.
These tables are surrounded by our Odette dining chairs, crafted in natural European beechwood. For this project, the chairs were custom upholstered in a vibrant red fabric to match the venue’s striking accent colour. The padded seats provide added comfort for guests settling in for long lunches or lingering dinners, while the natural timber frames echo the soft, warm tones found throughout the interior.
The high bar zone features a combination of Idaho bar leaners in both rectangular and square configurations, complemented by a few round Stockholm leaners for more intimate groupings. All these pieces use solid oak for consistency in tone and texture, helping the bar space feel like a natural extension of the dining area.
To finish the look, we supplied our Jack metal bar stools, custom powder-coated in that same signature red. These stools are robust enough for commercial use while adding a bold splash of colour and character.

A Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Transition.
A highlight of the Goode Brothers transformation was the outdoor dining and bar area—an extension of the interior’s friendly, sociable vibe. The outdoor space needed to feel like part of the same story, but with materials and finishes suitable for the elements.
They achieved this with a carefully selected mix of café chairs and tables designed for outdoor durability. Soda stools and Dome 261 chairs—in a soft green—were chosen to echo the indoor greenery and add a refreshing contrast to the red-dominated interior. These are paired with our Star aluminium bases for café tables and the Harper aluminium bar leaner, both topped with our premium Iroko timber tops—a hardwood known for its resilience and rich appearance.
This thoughtful furniture pairing helps bridge the transition from inside to out, allowing the entire venue to function as one fluid, flexible hospitality space.

A Community Space Built to Last.
Goode Brothers isn’t just another restaurant—it’s quickly becoming a local favourite, thanks to its warm service, stylish interior, and that unique blend of Italian flavour and Kiwi charm. And we’re proud to have played a role in shaping the experience.
Our café chairs and tables, bar furniture, and outdoor collections weren’t just there to fill space—they were key elements in creating a venue that feels cohesive, comfortable, and full of personality. It’s proof that when design and furniture work hand in hand, incredible spaces happen.
