Rural Sophistication Meets Relaxed Dining: Furnishing Off The Track, Hawke’s Bay

Client: Off The Track Restaurant & Cafe

Celebrating the seasons.

Set among the open landscapes of Hawke’s Bay, Off The Track is a destination that celebrates seasonal food, relaxed hospitality, and a strong connection to place. Known for its thoughtful menu and welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant pairs rural charm with contemporary design, creating a dining experience that feels both grounded and refined.

Large hospitality dining space furnished with timber restaurant tables and chairs at Off The Track Restaurant.

We were proud to supply the furniture fit out for Off The Track, contributing to a space that balances cuisine and the stunning surrounding landscape with simplicity.

A dining room designed to frame the landscape.

The main dining room is spacious and light filled, defined by a dramatic apex ceiling that evokes the honesty of a modern shed. At one end, a striking picture window framed in an A frame style draws the landscape inward, allowing daylight and views to play an active role in the dining experience.

Open-plan restaurant interior showcasing timber dining tables, chairs and indoor planting throughout the space.

Furniture within this space needed to complement the scale and architecture without overpowering it. Inside, generous 200x80 solid Oak table tops are paired with Star double aluminium table bases in black, grounding the room with strong, clean silhouettes. The natural timber tops introduce warmth balancing the height and openness of the space.

Two-seat dining setting featuring timber restaurant chairs and table in a contemporary hospitality interior.

Dining chairs are intentionally mixed to add visual interest while maintaining cohesion. Our Icho dining chairs in natural timber, fitted with custom green seat pads, bring softness and subtle colour into the room, while The Victoria dining chairs in natural with black seats provide contrast and structure. Together, the combination feels relaxed and unforced, inviting guests to settle in and stay awhile.

Seamless indoor–outdoor connection.

Off The Track’s outdoor spaces are just as considered as the interior, offering settings for everything from casual lunches to long afternoons that stretch into golden hour.

For outdoor lounging areas, the Cardrona outdoor sofa (3 seater), along with matching armchairs and the Atticus Coffee Table in charcoal, create a comfortable, contemporary retreat. Their low profiles and durable finishes suit the open setting, while their sculptural forms soften the surrounding hardscape.

Letting the outside in.

In the outdoor dining zones, Iroko timber table tops introduce a natural earth tone that beautifully complements the rural environment. These are paired with our green Noah chairs, selected for their strength, comfort, and timeless design, ideal for a hospitality space that sees constant use.

Bar seating completes the outdoor offering, with our Samuel bar stools. Their clean lines and robust construction support the relaxed but hardworking nature of hospitality.

We’re proud to have contributed to a venue that reflects the character of Hawke’s Bay hospitality: honest, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed.
