Creating a destination beyond golf.
Set along the banks of the Waikato River, Tieke Golf Estate has quickly established itself as one of New Zealand's premier golfing destinations. Alongside its acclaimed course, the clubhouse was designed to offer a welcoming space where members and visitors could dine, socialise, and gather before and after their round.
As part of the clubhouse fit-out, furniture was required across multiple hospitality spaces, including the café, bar, members' lounge, function areas, and outdoor terrace. While each space served a different purpose, the overall experience needed to feel cohesive, comfortable, and reflective of the quality of the wider estate.

Bringing multiple spaces together.
The challenge was to create distinct environments within the clubhouse while maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout.
The furniture needed to support a variety of uses, from casual coffees and lunches through to post-round drinks, member gatherings, and larger functions. Flexibility was also an important consideration, allowing spaces to adapt to different group sizes and events without compromising the guest experience.
During the selection process, our team worked closely with the golf club committee, providing furniture samples to help visualise how different pieces, materials, and finishes would work together within the space. With the project located close to our Tauranga showroom and warehouse, this hands-on approach made it easier for the committee to make confident decisions and achieve the look they were aiming for.

Furniture tailored to every zone.
A carefully considered furniture collection was developed to suit the needs of each area while creating continuity throughout the clubhouse.
Within the café, solid oak table tops paired with Konus steel bases provided a durable foundation for everyday dining. A mix of dining-height tables and bar leaners offered flexibility for different group sizes and occasions, while complementary seating helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The bar area featured elevated seating such as our Samuel bar stools and Stokholm round bar leaners designed to encourage social interaction and casual gatherings, while the members' lounge introduced richer timber finishes in our dark oak Stockholm rectangular leaners and relaxed upholstered Hans Wenger Replica Elbow stools seating reflects the premium character of the venue.

Outside, timber and aluminium table settings were selected to complement the natural surroundings and provide a practical solution for guests enjoying the terrace and views across the course.
Together, the furniture selections created distinct hospitality experiences while maintaining a consistent design language throughout the clubhouse.
A clubhouse built for connection.
Today, the Tieke clubhouse provides a versatile hospitality environment that supports members, visitors, diners, and event guests alike.
The furniture helps define each space while allowing the venue to adapt to changing needs throughout the day, from morning coffees and casual lunches through to member events and private functions. Durable commercial-grade materials ensure the spaces continue to perform in a busy hospitality setting, while the cohesive aesthetic reinforces the premium experience Tieke set out to create.
The result is a clubhouse that feels welcoming, considered, and connected to its surroundings, giving guests another reason to spend time at one of New Zealand's most distinctive golf destinations.
